The Goldfarb School of Nursing, located in St. Louis in Missouri is one of the best nursing colleges in the state. Founded in 1902, Goldfarb offers both traditional and accelerated degrees in nursing. What are the requirements for aspiring nurses? Does the college offer something more?

Goldfarb School of Nursing is a private college with more than 500 students enrolled for the year. With a ratio of 8:1 to stand for the ratio of the number of students to the number of faculty members, it is ensured the students of Goldfarb would be better supervised in their clinical hours. This is a very good number compared to other schools with more than 10 students for a faculty member. The 8:1 ratio means that there is a better chance for improvement as there are more faculties to supervise more students, and a better chance of getting jobs after graduation and licensure.

Accelerated programs are also offered in Goldfarb School of Nursing. In 12 months, a nurse would already be able to declare herself a registered nurse. The student will spend around 60 hours in school every week, and 600 hours of undergraduate practice. There are courses that are mandatory to attend such as Anatomy, Microbiology, Physiology, General Psychology, Nutrition, Human Growth and Development as well as Statistics. There are still many different courses offered, especially those in direct connection with nursing. Tuition fees range from $25,000-$34,000. The college itself is geared towards producing high quality and highly professional nurses that would serve others in the best way that they possibly could. These nurses are also educated in the best way possible in Barnes-Jewish College. Back in 1902, Goldfarb School of Nursing was known as the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing. Back then, the only way to be a nurse was to finish a traditional course that will take four years.

Those who wish to apply for education on BS in Nursing in Goldfarb School of Nursing would need to finish 66 hours of lecture classes in an option known as Upper Division. Around 30-40 hours every week should be spent for clinical hours and duties, and this is quite a low number of hours as compared to many other schools.

The Goldfarb School of Nursing also offers master degree programs, and will allow you to choose one among five different specialties. Executive, educator, practitioner, acute care and anesthesia are 5 different specialties that you’d be able to choose from. An executive would learn about leadership and management, an educator would learn about teaching and must pass a practicum, a practitioner would learn about practices in advanced nursing, an acute care practitioner would learn about skills related to invasive nursing, and nurse anesthesia would learn more about anatomy. Whatever you choose, there would surely be a good outcome as long as you study in Goldfarb School of Nursing.

Goldfarb School of Nursing is one of the best nursing colleges in the whole of United States, and its flexibility and excellence in offering nursing programs could be quite unmatched.
