3. Rush University is also a highly rated school. While it does not boast of being in the top 10, it prides itself on being the top 19 nursing school and this is according to the US News Report. Not only does it offer traditional nursing courses, it also offers master and doctorate degrees as well as certifications. Specialties offered are family and pediatric care, psychiatric and gerontological care.

4. Harry S. Truman College is a city college which is known to give 2-year nursing courses to students, especially those who want to get their degrees earlier and faster than usual. This follows the exact same processes, courses and general studies as other nursing courses, with the exception that it is a fulltime course. Nursing schools in Illinois rarely offer this fulltime course, much less the 2-year time frame to graduate from it. This makes Harry Truman College one of the most popular nursing schools in Illinois.
